Introducing Piglets.

Post by Gary » Fri May 02, 2008 5:56 pm

Out of our two litters born 4 weeks ago our prospective buyers have unfortunately, but understandably, chosen one piglet from each litter.
I know squabbling will invariably take place on the hand over day but does anyone have any advice on making this process as smooth and uneventful as possible, for both piglets and buyers ?

Hi Gary,
i find this is often the case and i always allow all my piglets to mix before they are weaned.
i know you've had problems with your sows fighting so this may not be possible but when you wean them i would put them all in together.
when they leave home they will be lonely being taken from the litter and will be grateful for each others company so they will soon settle down together.
