Sorry to hear that you have lost your piglet, I doubt they he will be far away. Go out with a bucket of pig nuts and call him and rattle the bucket of food hopefully he will come running home. Good luck.

No :( She was spotted about 300 yards from home yesterday but as soon as anyone gets too close she bolts! I have left a trail of pellets leading to the pig pen in the hope she will come home. Will she be able to smell her brother?

she should be able to hear him - piglets work mainly on sound. they 'talk' to each other all the time when they're together and i suspect she is hanging around close by because she can hear him. is there no way you can take him to her? in a dog cage? then move him back towards the house gradually. leave him alone to talk to her so she will come back to where he is.

Well its good news that she is still nearby. She won't go far as she will be able to hear and smell her brother and want to get near to him. Is there any other food she is especially keen on... apples? or even buscuits - I know there not good for her, but if they get her home then worth it!

I was considering outting her brother in a dog crate but I am worried he will escape too! I couldn't bear them both missing. She hasn't been spotted since Sunday so I am worried that someone has got her or she has wandered too far away. I am going to put some more signs up today a bit further away from home. Hope she comes home soon, her brother is lonely :(

No :( I have put an ad in all of the local papers so hopefully somebody might have seen her or betting still got her safe for me. I really want her back, her poor brother is all alone

i would be more concerned for the missing piglet than the one who is safe with you.
have you notified the police, local animal rescues, all local vet surgeries, rspca?
i would ring around all of them.
there is also a legal issue here - even though it is now out of your hands, you could get into serious trouble for the fa ct that this pig is wandering loose. It is illegal for her to be off your property

Of course I am worried about my lost piglet!! I have hardly slept since she went missing. I have informed everybody you mentioned and advertised in all of the newspapers too. Is it illegal for a pig to escape? It isn't like I have let her out for a stroll, I have no control as she escaped! :(

sorry, i ws meaning that in the eyes of Defra, trading standards etc, she is your legal responsibility. they aren't very sympathetic when it comes to escapees. a load of cows were shot recently when they escaped from a farm and ran through a load of gardens

I'm really sorry to hear that your piggy is still missing, you must be really worried about her. It sounds like you are doing everything that you can. The only other thing I can suggest is asking at local farms, maybe someone has taken her in. I really hope that you find her.
