coat colour
hi, just wondered why the striped coats wern't desireable when on the 'kunekune standard of perfection' it states that the coat may be any colour or texture? not bothered either way just a little misleading, hes actually my favorite already so may end up keeping him as a castrate!! just curious if coat colour matters if they were to fit all other criteria? i asume he'll lose his stripes but what colour will he go?

Hi Our kunekune Pig Dorice looks quite close but no sign of milk but last time she had pigglets she didn't start milking for 1 hour before giving birth is this normal? and is any one sure how many piglets sows are ment to have?
Another question is we have another kunekune called dalilah and is it possible for them to slip within 1 week of birth and if so what might have caused this?
also we have breed with both true kunekunes before but not all piggles have tassles under chin is this meant to happen
cheers
Charlie

Hi,
do you know the date when your sow was mated? this would help to work out when she is due and they usually deliver more or less on time.
The last few days before she farrows she will 'bag up' underneath, her vulva will become longer and look very slack and she will probably have milk in her udder for the last 24 hours. just because she didn't last time, doesn;t mean she won't this time.
Some piglets are born without piris but it is best to breed from two pigs who have them in order to keep consistency in the breed.
sows can lose/ re-absorb a litter for a number of reasons but it is usually due to infection/ raise in temperature which you may or may not notice depending on the severity of it.
