Feeding from the garden

Post by repatexpat » Sat Jul 13, 2013 1:33 pm

We're busy weeding and thinning a large vegetable garden and wonder what is safe/unsafe (like parsnips) to feed Celeste and her 2 m.o. piglets. If they aren't taken out to graze, they've been receiving an armful of leaves from over-wintered chard. Now that we're moving them around the garden and orchard, current offerings include:
* Chard/spinach leaves
* Beech tree cuttings
* Nibbling on low-hanging green apples/leaves/branches
* Suede greens
* Couch grass
* Japanese knotweed
* broadbean leaves
If there is a good reference for this? Thanks!

All looks good, except the japanese knotweed - which you should dispose of according to the guidelines.
