Bracken

Post by sean cassidy » Tue Sep 02, 2008 9:56 pm

Hi everyone,
I think this was raised before, can KKs eat bracken? Had an enquiry from a conservation warden who wants to try use them to eat young bracken in a sensitive area !! instead of strimmers. He thinks that pigs aren't affected by bracken. Any real world experiences? Not having a problem with bracken, and being able to eat lots of it, are two very different things.

Thanks
Sean

Thanks Wendy,
The info on the web ranges from nearly toxic to causing vitamin deficiancy. There is one photo report on the web from a woman in Scotland who uses pigs just to clear bracken, they seem to be especially happy pigs. I wonder would KK's munch on the roots? Probably have to dig them up for them, seen as they are so well mannered????? :P
