Hi there,

kunekune living outdoors and wallowing may well have some flaky skin and brushing sometimes makes this more noticeable (not that there is a problem with brushing of course!). As long as they don't have mange, mites or lice or any other obvious skin problem including cracked skin then you do not need to worry too much but I realise you may just want to improve their skin condition :)

If you would like to pamper them then if you take a look at the BKKPS film for showing pigs part of that is about washing and conditioning skin: http://www.britishkunekunesociety.org.u ... owing.aspx

I have additionally used E45 type cream on a pig with particularly sore patches and Sudocrem when they have been pecked by birds and have open sores.

Hope that helps, email me if you would like further suggestions :)
Cheerio for now, Sam Jones :-)
