Litter received post-weaning worming injection on 07Jan. For how long might one expect to continue to see worms eliminated in faeces? Thanks!

Hello!!!!

They generally start to appear around the 5th day after injection and then you don't usually see them for much longer then 2 to 4 days. I suspect it is possible it might go on for a little longer but personally I have never seen this :D

Thanks, Sam. I think worms continued to be evident in stool for longer than 5+4 days but now there's no sign so not worried. Perhaps weaning a bit late allowed a greater build up of worms, so took a bit longer to clear.

If there were a lot and they continued over a few days than I would consider giving a second dose 2 weeks later  Alternatively take a poo sample and have an egg count done by your vet as this can be quite cost effective - especially if you have more than a few pigs to worm
