Large solid lump

Post by desmond » Mon May 07, 2018 5:05 pm

Hello,
My seven year old Kune George who was castrated as a piglet has now developed a huge lump in the area where his testicles were.
It is the size of a cricket ball and it is rock hard.
The vet has examined him and he doesn't mind it being touched or prodded. The vet doesn't know what it is and has advised us to leave it as it doesn't hurt him and it would involve major surgery to remove it.
Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any idea what the lump could be?

The lump immediately sounds like a hernia. They happen, usually younger, but don't necessarily hurt. But if you've had a vet look he would have considered this and presumably decided that its not a hernia. So I would follow vets advice and leave it along unless it starts to cause pain.

Hi Simon, thank you for your reply. You're right that the vet has ruled out the lump being a hernia. He's very bright in himself so at the moment we will leave things be, it would have just have been nice to know what the lump actually is.
