news flash!

Post by wendy scu » Fri May 09, 2008 7:33 am

I am hoping to have a site meeting next week at the royal showground to discuss our 'show within a show'
the aim is to get as many of you as poss to enter your pigs ( with the flyer enclosed in the may newsletter) so we can sort out 2 or 3 classes depending on how many ,how old and what sex we get.
ANY pig will be eligible as long as it's registered.

i will take care of any pigs left at the showground for the 4 day duration as i will be there anyway looking after mine and it will save you having to stay over,
classes will take place on the sunday so your pigs can go straight home afterwards

will let you know when i have more news

I have just read on another Forum that this is the last year for the Royal Show. I have never been but thought some of you who do attend would be interested with the news.

thats interesting, i wonder if thats official or heresay.
its hasn't been mentioned at the meetings but there is definitely a 'this is make or break year' attitude, although that has been the case for several years now ever since they handed it over to Haymarket Land Events for a year and they ruined its reputation.
I love the Royal Show, it has always been my favourite and is far superior to all the other county shows for venue, facilities and entertainment. I really hope it doesn't go. Specailly as they've just got the new pig building!!

Yes, you're right,
i just had a look at the newslink that person put up.
i'm not surprised the Royal Welsh does so well, it is still rural in wales, as with the south west of england but everywhere else doesnt really fit that catergory now.
what a pity! i look forward to the royal all winter
