Fencing for kunekunes

We're just about to take delivery of our first kunekunes - 3 beautiful boys who will be castrated before they get here - and I wanted people's advice on fencing.
We have roughly half an acre which eventually they'll be free to roam but initially wanted to restrict them to a smaller section, roughly 100 sq metres, till they've settled-in and got used to living with us.
The main part of the garden is bounded on two sides with dry stone walls about 4ft high, wooden vertical slatted fencing on one side, and wire fencing on the remaining side.
What size wire mesh would people recommend for the wire sections - both the restricted area and the wired side of the main perimeter? Would 4" mesh be suitable?
This is where we'll be keeping them, btw: http://tinyurl.com/37hflrd
