Selling kunes

Post by bev » Tue Mar 23, 2010 7:28 am

Excuse my ignorance, have never sold pigs before! What do I do with the cards stating my pigs breeding, the registration cards? Do I give them to the purchaser or send them back to the registrar for the owners details to be added?

Selling pigs

Its generally easier not to register the piglets until they are sold. Then register them in the new owner's name with yourself as breeder.

As you have now registered them I would feel inclined to pass the cards to their new owners and suggest that they get them changed.

Thankyou.
I didn't breed them, I bought them when they were a couple of months old and the breeder registered them and the cards were then sent to me.

Registration

Aah I see! If you send them back to the registrat David Lacon, with the details he will amend them and send you new cards.

Enjoy your piglets!

Confused now!
I am selling 3 gilts, not bred by me, they are 9 months old. The breeder of them registered them and I duly recieved the cards last year. Do I pass these cards on to purchaser of them or send them back to David to amend?

You send them to david and ask him to transfer them to the new owner. give the ear tags if they aren't in the ears) to the new owner with the pigs.

Can i ask why you're selling after such a short time?

Thankyou.
I am selling because my father died in December and I am running the smallholding alone now, I have to cut back I'm afraid.
