Obtaining copies of Pedigrees

Post by A&J@Strathview » Tue Aug 06, 2019 5:56 pm

Hi, looking for some advice please regarding obtaining a copy of pedigree information. Two years ago, we found ourselves the owners of a Kune boar who is now just over 5 years old. After some enquiries, we were told he was actually a pedigree boar, from a breeder down south, but we don't know where/who. Going by the information given on the society's own website regarding the type of ear tags, it would suggest he's maybe from the Windrush Awakino III line. Given that we have his ear tag number, is there any way of tracing him, and if he is pedigree, can you obtain copies of them?
The reason I am asking, we are changing the use of our land now and are looking to re-home the Boar/Sow and sell the 5 piglets on. It would be nice to know/have some proof before doing this. We are only interested in giving these animals a good home and attracting the right type of owner. We have had interest in the piglets, but I withdrew from the arrangement after sensing the potential buyer had poor intentions towards them. Our only interest is to secure them all a proper, caring environment. Thanks for your time.

If you send the eartag details, colour and gender and any information your have to the registrar they will be able to confirm the pedigree and potentially re-issue a pedigree certificate.
