Boar not mounting properly

Post by pedro1 » Tue Mar 13, 2012 7:25 am

Hi my boar has father 2 litters already but yesterday I observed him mounting one of my old gilts that cannot conceive anymore and when he did he was not mounting her properly do you think is because the old sow does not want to be mounted or is it because of the boar from pedro

What do you actually mean by not mounting properly?
I have seen every way that a boar mounts a sow including at her head........I don't worry even though he's obviously at the wrong end.
Also, if the old 'gilt' that can no longer conceive is surely now classed as a sow, not a gilt.
Mind over Matter...........You don't mind, it doesn't matter!!!!!

By not mounting properly I mean he gets on her back normally but his penis is no where near her vulva and I called her a gilt as she has never had a litter in her lifetime from pedro

she is perhaps not properly in season when you are seeing this? As he is a proven boar i'm sure he will get it right when the time is right.
