I know it is unlikely but does anyone have a Mexican Hat style pig feeder with section dividers intact for a reasonable price (upto £120).
It would be ideal for our two Kunes - Wilson and Dolly. He is a castrated male and pushes her our of the current trough.

You are right this site is amazingly useful and hosted by really caring, knowledgable and friendly pig keepers. Keep us informed abo...

Raisins and dried fruit
Can we feed Kunes dried fruit like raisins? It is a very easy alternative to fresh in winter. Two for one at local health shop prompted the query.

The 20th anniversary newsletter
Thanks to all involved in the additional newsletter. I received it yesterday and unusually for me, I read it from cover to cover and found it hugely interesting. It is great to be part of such an active society.
Many thanks

Hot water on feed
We have two 13 week old very healthy happy pigs (castrate and gilt). They eat Allen pot belly pig pellets which we are currently warming with hot water- advice from breeder when we collected them. It's now a bit of a pain as they are due to go into our orchard which is away from the greenhouse kettl...

Ear sucking- any advice?

The small gilt (6 week old she has been bottle fed by the breeder after mum died 24 hours after the piglets were born) constantly sucks on the ear of her slightly larger brother- particularly at feeding time. She is so avid at suckling the ear th...

Hi Simon
We are also in Derbyshire and pick up our first Kunes (one gilt and one castrated male) next Thursday aged 6 weeks. Our breeder is in Chinley Derbyshire so would be good for you I guess.

I pick my first ever Kunes next Thurday and I found this thread really useful as an early warning about vaccinations etc. We are collecting a gilt and castrated male and we are keeping them in the garden for a couple of months as they are 6 weeks old and tiny (they lost Mum 24 hours after they were ...
