Baldness due to birds.

Hi Everyone I am in need of help/advice. I have 3 wonderful KKs. The problem is I have noticed that we have a magpie who regularly lands on my castrated boar's (Vince) back and has plucked his hair out  . He is now quite bald  , it is starting to regrow ish slowly but I am getting sick o...

Re: Sows or boars

Hi Lynndb I notice the difference when my 2 girls come into season, with Pumpkin she definetly gets quite pushy and bolshy  and with Polly she can be very vocal!! Both can become quite handbaggy with each other and my little castrate Vince tries (and sometimes fails  ) to keep the peace ...

Re: Biting Pigs

I totally agree with Wendy. Pigs have very very strong jaws and I do think you made the right decision. Not all kk's are like that. It is not easy to make that decision. If one of your family had been hurt you would feel even worse.
Best wishes.

Hi Dawn I have a castrated boar and his tusks come out over his top lip. We have never had a problem. He is almost 5 and they aren't huge but they have never needed trimming back yet. Just see how you go :D. The only time he got it caught was when he somehow got his tusk under the hem of my trousers...

I haven't seen a picture of an adult either. I think this is bad news as I can see rescue/rehoming centres full of these pigs in the future because they dont stay cute, small piglets for long. I am in the process of getting a home for a pair of KK's who were bought on a whim by someone who thought or...
