Re: Tips for making our two chaps less noisy?

You are doing the right thing by not feeding them extra food every time they see you.If possible go into the paddock with them when they make a noise, just give them an ear rub, stand around for ten minutes and then leave the paddock. They are intelligent souls and will quickly catch on that food is no...

Re: kunekune crosses

With so many pigs coming up for rescue you may have to give them away for free.Did you breed them on purpose?

Of course you were right to refuse the sale.Never sell piglets without meeting the buyer.I refuse several sales each year because customers are not suitable to keep kunekunes.I get text messages from teenagers wanting piglets.I don't even bother to reply. If someone is serious about the commitment of...

Your piglets will be fine with the sow.Just make sure she does not lose weight as they will continue to feed from her.If you are selling the piglets don't remove just a couple at a time or she may get mastitis.

A runt piglet will start eating pig nuts as well as the milk from two weeks old. That should help put the weight on.Don't worry about size difference with siblings, the runt will catch up and reach a reasonable size.

Hi Gabby, dont worry about the hair loss its not unusual, nothing you have done wrong. You can help the hair grow back by brushing pig oil on your girls, also a good wet muddy wallow will condition their coat.

I only breed and sell my kunes as pets.I get ?150 each for them as pets, the going rate for a meat weaner round here is ?30 and plenty of people doing that with unregistered kunes already. So think I will stay as I am.
