Potatoes

I have alot of potatoes to cook for my pigs which couldn't be sold, however my pigs got out and helped themselves to them. What are the reasons for cooking potatoes before giving them to pigs? Do uncooked potatoes harm them?

Thanks Wendy.
How long do you have to be a memeber for before you can sell boar piglets without castrating them?
