New pen & Ragwort

Hi, I have just completed a second pen for my 3 little pigs. We have cleared as much of the brick away as possible as it is the ground around the ruins of 2 cottages. There is a drop of about 5ft where part of the wall is still erected. I wondered if the pigs would be clever enough to know not to ju...

The Vet came and gave them both a shot of ivomec on Monday. Today I have found long White roundworm in half of the poo! About 6 6" worms so far. Will they be okay now? I was told by the breeder & vet they didn't need worming. Shall I get them done again in 4 weeks to be sure?

I think I will get the vet to do the first one but watch how he does it so I can do my own in future. I know it's costly but I would be worried about doing it wrong and hurting them. I will arrange for him to come as soon as possible. Thanks for your advice! Hopefully we will have them better soon :)

Dry itchy skin problem

Hi, Both of my 4 month old pigs have got dry scaly skin and they regulary scratch themselves on tree stumps etc. I inspect their skin daily and my Boars back end has gone quite firm in one place. They still have lovely ginger coats but when I check underneath it is very dry. I have spoken to a vet a...

Hi, yes there is a chart on the back of the pack. It goes on weight of the pig and I have no idea what they weigh. It was more the fruit and veg quantities I was unsure of. When I say standard scoop I mean like one you would use with dry dog food. Standard size in the pet shop... They don't cater fo...

Am I feeding my pigs too much?

I am feeding my 4 month old piglets the following and wondered if I was over feeding them. Any advice would be much appreciated. In the morning at 8am I chop approximately 2 apples, a tangerine, 2/3 carrotts, 2 potatoes, some plum tomatoes and maybe some banana. They love it and that is given betwee...

Of course I am worried about my lost piglet!! I have hardly slept since she went missing. I have informed everybody you mentioned and advertised in all of the newspapers too. Is it illegal for a pig to escape? It isn't like I have let her out for a stroll, I have no control as she escaped! :(

I was considering outting her brother in a dog crate but I am worried he will escape too! I couldn't bear them both missing. She hasn't been spotted since Sunday so I am worried that someone has got her or she has wandered too far away. I am going to put some more signs up today a bit further away f...

No :( She was spotted about 300 yards from home yesterday but as soon as anyone gets too close she bolts! I have left a trail of pellets leading to the pig pen in the hope she will come home. Will she be able to smell her brother?
