Re: 3 little piggies

If you’re on Facebook you could advertise them on the kunekune pigs uk page. Are they pedigree as that will help.
Good luck!

Re: NEW HOME NEEDED ASAP

Sorry I have 7 already so not able to rehome another but wanted to suggest you post details on the ‘kunekune pigs uk’ Facebook page as there are always people looking for kune’s on there If she’s pedigree I reckon someone will snap her up quickly at 8 months old.
Kind regards

Re: Chicken Killing

Could the chicken have already been dead? I once spotted one of my pigs with a chicken leg in his mouth but then realised i’d had a fox attack and he had just stumbled upon one of the carcasses and helped himself to a tasty meal. Despite then presumably having a taste for chickens he never once atta...

Hello, it could be the age as mine rooted as ‘teenagers’ but stopped after around a year 18 months and didn’t really root again.
Good luck!

Thanks for that really useful advice Wendy. Looks like it will be possible :D My field is fenced with electric fencing so I would be able to easily split it. I just wouldn't want to do that permanently as I only have 1 pig ark so would prefer them all to share eventually. Plus it's far easier when e...

Integrating pigs

Hello I have 2 castrated kune boars (brothers) who are 2 yrs old. We have been toying with the idea of possibly rehoming one or 2 kune's in the future and these would live in the same field with my current 2. The main thing that is putting me off is if there was any fighting when adding newcomers. M...

Hi Emmy. It isn't something to go in their food but Coopers Spot On is really effective for treating mites. Unfortunately it isn't licensed for Pigs (only cows and sheep) but I've heard that vets will often sell it to horse owners as it is brill for repelling flies etc too, so your vet may sell you ...

Ha ha, there is definitely an article in the May newsletter from you on kidney stones with your poor Rocky - I thought you meant that one. My husband was impressed and amused that despite being poorly Rocky managed to eat 40 apples!
Ooh good I'll look forward to the new newsletter - I always do. :o

Thanks Wendy I took a urine sample to the vet and it's showing there is still a bacterial infection so poor Boris has 2 more antibiotic injections to be given every 3 days. Incidentally I have found that apple juice makes a very good distractant and pain reliever when given at the same time as an in...

Problems weeing and blood coming out

Hello One of my castrated boars is having a few problems going to the toilet. He just seems to be dribbling wee all the time and when he does try to go properly (straining a little) blood comes out. I had the vet last Wednesday who thought it may be a urine infection and gave him a huge dose of anti...

Dirty ears

My pigs have really dirty ears. I keep cleaning them with baby wipes but within a few days they're full of reddy/brown/black dirt again. We injected them both with ivomec 2 weeks ago as I thought it may be ear mites. Would it take a while to clear as they're still just as dirty or could it be someth...
