Hi,
I have several pigs and just one of them, a castrate, loses his hair every winter. He also only loses the black hair and only down the centre of his back. I don't think it is anything to worry about.

My last 2 litters were AWAKINO/TE WHANGI , 3 piglets, and JENNY /ANDREW, 6 piglets. Of these 9 there were 7 boars!! 3 were castrated, including a little runt that was bottle fed, lived in the kitchen in front of the aga and was constantly being picked up - maybe Alison you were just unlucky with you...

That is always a risk, although i have not had a problem and pigs have very thick skin. All the bees (and wasps) in the neighbourhood, not just yours, would be interested in the water. I think they would probably take flight before the pigs laid on them. If you are worried about it then a stone bird...

Can i just check that I have understood your last comment correctly.

Does this mean that the new rule only applies to members joining after 1st May and not to any members who have joined before that date?
